2017 Spirit Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir
At 700 to 850 feet in elevation and awash with the Eola-Amity Hill's persistent drying winds, Spirit Hill Vineyard is always the last Pinot Noir to be picked and handled in the winery. Raspberry, marionberry, green tea, and violets flow into a silky middle palate, building structure and polished tannins through its long, energetic finish. After fermentation and gentle pressing, the wine was allowed to age elegantly on its lees for 16 months in French oak, of which 30% were new.
2014 Argyle Spirit Hill Vineyard Blanc de Blancs
At 750 feet in elevation, north-facing and windy, the Chardonnay from Spirit Hill Vineyard provides beautifully focused acidity and tension. The freshness of Eola-Amity Hills Chardonnay shines through with lemon and grapefruit wound up with tight malic energy. Neutral oak barrel fermentation and aging builds upon its pronounced structure, bringing subtle creaminess woven into fine, salty mineral length.
2017 Spirit Hill Vineyard Chardonnay
The highly elevated and exposed hillsides of the Eola-Amity Hills provide Spirit Hill Vineyard Chardonnay with concentration and tension. Sourced from a single block of 548 Dijon Clone Chardonnay and sitting at 750 feet, these loose clusters and firm skins provide its structured core. Crisp apple, lemon zest, and wet stone are underlined with persistent texture and savory spice. Entirely barrel fermented, the wine was allowed to age elegantly on full lees for 14 months in French oak.
