Wines in this Set
2016 Blanc de Noirs
The 2016 sparkling wine vintage in the Willamette Valley was bountiful, revealing the pure fruit flavors and precision the region has to offer. The windy, high elevations of the Eola-Amity Hills, and specifically, our Spirit Hill Vineyard, is the source for our Blanc de Noirs. Pinot Noir builds red fruited depth and firm structure, while Pinot Meunier brings floral freshness and lift. Savory autolysis, spring flowers, and red berries are woven with creamy texture and dynamic length.
2017 Reserve Chardonnay
Argyle Reserve Chardonnay returns! Our first bottling since 1999, the 2017 Reserve Chardonnay is blended between our three vineyards, highlighting the silky elegance of the Dundee Hills and mineral tension of the Eola-Amity Hills. Three quarters of the blend is from late ripened high elevation vineyards, detailing white peach, lemon blossom, and vibrant acidity with spicy lees aged texture and energetic length.
2017 Reserve Pinot Noir
The Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity Hills are home to our Reserve Pinot Noir, both based in volcanic red soils, providing spicy elegance and texture. Perfumed, floral, and red cherry weave with delicate mocha and five spice. The tannins are firm, but rounded, an underlying minerality which drives the mid-palate through the long finish. While delving for pure fruit flavors and juicy acidity, we hang our phenolic hat on our trademark silky texture, which has been enhanced through cold soaking and fermenting in small, 1.5-ton fermentations.
2018 Lone Star Vineyard Pinot Noir
Lone Star Vineyard Pinot Noir is blended from three parcels that focus on the more delicate side of the Eola-Amity Hills. These three blocks are situated at the top of the vineyard at 400 feet elevation, planted in 2002 and 2005. Red fruit is quite fleeting in a warm, dry season like 2018, but this wine shows cherry, red raspberry, white pepper, and rose petal while buoyed by a dense core of fresh, vibrant acidity. The wine opens with sleekness and elegance and finishes with polished, yet firm tannin. Cold soaking and fermenting in small, 1.5-ton fermenters enhances silky texture, while 10% whole cluster inclusion brings subtle, spicy length.
2018 Minus Five Riesling
Ripe, whole clusters of Riesling from Lone Star Vineyard were flash frozen at Minus Five degrees Fahrenheit then pressed with even, gentle pressure over the course of two days. The golden, highly concentrated juice slowly melts out of the press, leaving the frozen water behind, where it was then slowly fermented in one small stainless steel tank. Baked pear, apricot tart, and lemon blossom dance with incredible depth and texture, all balanced with long, focused acidity.
2016 Argyle Vintage Brut (Included in Set Price)
The 2016 sparkling wine vintage in the Willamette Valley was generous yet refined, highlighting the alluring precision the region has to offer. Knudsen Vineyard, in the protected Dundee Hills, brings supple depth and elegance, while Spirit Hill Vineyard, in the windy confines of the Eola-Amity Hills, brings tension and mineral backbone. Fresh seashore, white peach, and toasted brioche are framed around a creamy center and long, graceful finish.
