2019 Old Vine Block 2 Knudsen Vineyard Pinot Noir
Among the few remaining vines in the Dundee Hills from the early pioneer era, this own-rooted Pommard was planted in 1974. Traditionally used in our Knudsen Vineyard Brut due to its late ripening elevation of 900 feet, we wanted to experiment with one fermenter to create a compelling red wine with depth, dimension, and beautiful natural acidity. Black raspberry, floral cherry, and orange peel dance with silky tannin and long, energetic length. The two barrels were allowed to elegantly age on full lees for 18 months, one neutral and one new.
