2018 Knudsen Vineyard Blanc de Blancs
Knudsen Vineyard Blanc de Blancs has been sourced from the original, own-rooted Dijon Clone Chardonnay vines planted in Julia Lee's Block since the wine's first bottling in 1995. Planted in 1990 at 850 feet of elevation, this wine displays glazed apricot, ground cardamom, and almond biscotti, refined by layers of delicate precision and volcanic tension. Fermented and aged in our oldest, neutral oak barrels expands its middle palate depth and builds upon its taut, savory length.
Knudsen Vineyard is one of the Willamette Valley’s most historic vineyard sites. Knudsen is famous for innovation that has continually improved quality from clonal selection to high-density vine spacing.
Food Pairing Notes
Argyle pioneered single vineyard Sparkling Wine with the inaugural releases of 1995 vintage Knudsen Vineyard Brut and Blanc de Blancs.
“The 2018 Blanc de Blancs Knudsen Vineyard comes from own-rooted Dijon clone vines planted in 1990. It offers pretty scents of elderflower, quince, green pear and lemony touches complemented by tones of brioche and flint. The palate is light-bodied, dry and creamy with focused acidity, a pure core of orchard fruit and integrated pastry-like tones characterizing the long finish. Yum!” -Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate
