Winemaker Notes
Extended Tirage wines are aged for ten years on the yeast and disgorged on demand to ensure freshness. Argyle’s Tirage Library in in Dundee has sparkling wines still aging on the yeast, dating back to our first vintage in 1987.
Accolades
“The 2010 Brut Knudsen Vineyard Extended Tirage is a blend of 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay with ten years' tirage and was disgorged in the summer of 2020. It has lovely aromas of graphite and mushroom powder with wafts of fresh bread, coriander seed and chamomile. Creamy and seamless, the palate offers a balance of ripe orchard fruit and savory bass tones, with notable purity and a long, energetic finish. Graceful and expressive, it will continue to develop savory complexity over the next 3-5 years in bottle.” — Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate – 96 Points

“Richer and meatier in flavor and texture than the Blanc de Blancs, this 100% Pinot Noir sparkling
wine has been aged over 10 years on the lees and is another spectacular Extended Tirage release
from Argyle. Velvety texture and mouthwatering acidity combine with notes of pink grapefruit,
blanched almonds, toasted brioche, and a smooch of raspberry essence. It’s supple on the palate and
delivers a perfect amount of fruit and spice. Just a small amount of 76 cases were produced.”
