2010 Extended Tirage Knudsen Brut
Argyle 'Extended Tirage' wines are crowning achievements for vintage grower Sparkling Wine. Bottle fermented and aged ten years on the yeast, Argyle 'Extended Tirage' Knudsen Vineyard Brut is among the rarest wines made in America today and is the culmination of our founding ambition to create wines that endure. One of our most limited releases ever, we produced 76 cases of this wine.
Extended Tirage wines are aged for ten years on the yeast and disgorged on demand to ensure freshness. Argyle’s Tirage Library in in Dundee has sparkling wines still aging on the yeast, dating back to our first vintage in 1987.
“The 2010 Brut Knudsen Vineyard Extended Tirage is a blend of 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay with ten years' tirage and was disgorged in the summer of 2020. It has lovely aromas of graphite and mushroom powder with wafts of fresh bread, coriander seed and chamomile. Creamy and seamless, the palate offers a balance of ripe orchard fruit and savory bass tones, with notable purity and a long, energetic finish. Graceful and expressive, it will continue to develop savory complexity over the next 3-5 years in bottle.” — Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate – 96 Points
